In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re shining the spotlight on Hope House Counselling Centre, a Cape Town-based non-profit making mental health support accessible for teenagers and their families.
Why Hope House Matters
Adolescence can be challenging — anxiety, depression, stress, peer pressure, and family conflicts are common. Hope House ensures that financial constraints don’t stand in the way of support. Operating on a donation basis, their services are affordable for families across different income levels.
Services Tailored for Teens
Hope House offers a variety of programmes designed to meet the unique needs of teens:
Individual Counselling for anxiety, depression, stress, and relationships.
Family Counselling to strengthen communication and resolve conflicts.
School Programmes addressing emotional wellbeing, substance awareness, and peer pressure.
All services are provided by trained counsellors in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment.
Accessible and Community-Focused
With centres in Tokai, Kuils River, and Khayelitsha, Hope House reaches a broad community. Operating hours are Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Friday mornings.
